Modelling techniques for gears - MF0603

R&D Summary Objectives:- Establish the relationship between scale model cod-ends and extensions and full size nets. Key customer purpose:- By using models rather than full scale nets, enable gear research costs to be substantially reduced.
1. To establish methods of scaling codends and extensions so that the behaviour and shapes of the models tested in the Flume Tank represent the shapes of full scale codends at sea. 2. To establish methods of measuring the mesh openings and physical dimensions of model codends in the Flume Tank.
