Multispecies stock interactions - MF0302

Description
R&D Summary Objectives:- Estimate cannibalism and predation among commercial fish stocks in order to provide non-fishing mortality estimates for multispecies models. Key customer purpose:- More accurate stock predictions and better assessments of technical methods of managing fisheries.
Objective
1.To update estimates of predation among commercial fish of all ages, including 0-groups, and to quantify differences in feeding mortality between different areas of the North Sea. 2.To provide input and validation data required by a new multispecies model (see related project appraisal), which incorporates 0-group and area effects, thereby providing a more realistic tool to manage North Sea fish stocks.
