Fisheries statistics and biological sampling programme - MF0104

Description
Non R&D Summary Objectives:- Provide fishery statistics on fish landings to Fish Stats Unit, and provide data required for fish stock assessments (including age composition) at ICES. Key customer purpose:- Fulfil statutory obligations to the EC under common fisheries policy to provide landing data, and to other international bodies (ICES) for management purposes. Also nationally for publication of statistics.
Objective
1.To fulfil the requirements and requests of the CFP for reporting of landing and effort statistics. 2.To fulfil the requirements of ICES for fisheries statistics and market sampling data, and to support stock assessment advice for ICES and the EC (STCF) by Directorate staff. 3.To report comparably on other fisheries and shellfisheries of actual or potential significance nationally, as agreed with MAFF Fisheries Division. 4.To advise Fisheries Division as required on related matters.
