Description
Non R&D Summary Objectives:- Provide health assurance and certification of fish and shellfish exports to non-EC countries and investigate, identify and advise on the significance of new fish diseases in farmed wild stocks. Key customer purpose:- Enable export of live fish and shellfish to non-EC countries to continue, on a full cost recovery basis to MAFF, and ensure MAFF is aware of, and can respond effectively to emerging diseases.
Objective
1. To provide a testing and health certification service to aid export of fish and shellfish to countries outside the EEC. 2. To investigate new/emergent diseases of fish and provide advice to HQ and industry as to their immediate and potential long-term significance.
