Management of marine fish cultivation - FC0101

Description
Non R&D Summary Objectives:- Control of imported diseases. Advise on the environmental impact of marine fish cultivation, particularly in relation to conservation areas and other legitimate uses of the coastal zone. Key customer purpose:- Enable MAFF to draw up policy guidelines concerning the management of marine fish cultivation practices, leading to the definition of control requirements.
Objective
1.With FDL, Weymouth, to control the spread of pests and disease which might result from the import of non-indigenous species. 2.To advise on the impact of marine fish cultivation, particularly in relation to designated conservation areas and other legitimate uses of the coastal zone. 3.To maintain awareness of practical husbandry of selected species of commercial significance.
