Development of Efficient Transformation in Horticultural Brassicas - HH1103SFV

Objective
(i) To develop efficient transformation methods in horticultural brassicas; to include principally:
Brassica juncea (mustard)
Brassica hirta (syn. Sinapis alba, mustard)
(ii) To define efficient transformation methods for plant germplasm and breeding material provided by industry.
(iii) To evaluate a range of currently available gene constructs in the selected species.
(iv) To investigate methods to avoid the presence of antibiotic resistance marker genes in transgenic crop varieties.
