BBSRC-DEFRA Global Coronavirus Research Network Call - SE0561

The Global Coronavirus Research Network Call is an interdisciplinary research coordination programme, which will enable international networking and collaborative working for the coronavirus research community. The funded network will draw together the major global research and industry actors working on veterinary and human coronaviruses to compare, contrast and advance the understanding of coronaviruses.

The main aims of the Network will be to embrace a One Health approach, facilitating research collaborations and serving as a communication gateway for the global coronaviruses research community; integrating with the human coronavirus research community; bringing together experts to analyse gaps and identify research priorities, and conduct strategic research to better understand coronaviruses
This programme will address multiple policy priorities:
• Promoting ‘one health’ approaches that combine biological, veterinary and medical research to improve the health and well-being of animals and people.
• Identifying and building mutually beneficial partnerships for UK bioscience, and opportunities for UK bioscience to help address international research priorities.
• Fostering approaches that facilitate collaboration and the exchange of people and ideas, whether between disciplines, institutions or countries.
