Amenity Value Benefits of a Deposit Return Scheme for Drinks Containers - EQ0126

Description
The purpose of this study is to further develop the evidence base on the amenity benefits of a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS). The study results will be used to update the aggregate benefit estimates in a revision of the Impact Assessment for the expected second consultation phase.
Objective
The specific study objectives are to provide additional evidence on the benefits of reducing litter disamenity, and specifically to:
• Estimate aggregate benefit of a DRS, providing a broad account of the range of disamenity impacts associated with litter, and • Examine how sensitive benefits are to local attributes, namely, location, composition and accumulation of litter, to provide additional insight into the potential impacts of a DRS.
