Testing the susceptibility of Garra rufa to spring viraemia of carp (SVC) virus by ip injection - FC1199
|
Description
To determine if Garra rufa are susceptible to infection, support replication of the virus and/or succumb to disease caused by representative isolates of European and Asian SVCV after intra-peritoneal injection and or bath emersion. SVC is an exotic disease and the susceptibility of Garra rufa to SVC is unknown. There are substantial Garra rufa imports due to their use in spa treatments. There is the potential for these fish to be released into the aquatic environment if businesses fail or fish become sick where, if infected with SVC could pass on infection to susceptible native fish. |
