Are labels the answer? Barriers to buying higher welfare products. - CI0102
|
Description
Defra would like to understand ways that motivations or barriers to buying higher welfare products can be met and explore what stops those that already make some welfare purchasing decisions from making more. |
Objective
Findings of the research will be used to develop policy options and inform EU discussions (see section 2) on the best approach to increase consumption of higher welfare food products. The research will also assist Defra to deliver one of the goals of its Animal Welfare Delivery Strategy which is to ensure that economic markets function effectively and transparently allowing customers to make informed choices based on animal welfare standards. |
