Scoping study to inform EV0447 ‘GHG emissions from Government’ - EV0462

Two day’s scoping work to assess the nature of data held by OGC, available fulfil the aims and objectives in the proposed project ‘EV0477: Measuring greenhouse gas emissions from Government’. Activities to be undertaken will assess the quality and availability of data available, to determine
• The scope of Government bodies to be included in EV0447 (this should preferably include agencies and NDPBs)
• The scope of emissions sources to be included (according to scope 1, 2 and 3 of the GHG protocol)
• The ability that data can be disaggregated to inform us of main emissions sources
• The quality of data sources for individual Government, in order to recommend Departments to be included in study EV0477 (those currently agreeing to be involved in the study are Defra, DECC, DH, DWP)
• The categorisation of OGC data and compatibility with recognised categorisation of emissions sources in emissions modelling
