High capacity small volume biogas for UK biogas production - LK0860

Project LK0860 is developing and testing a small scale anaerobic digestion (AD) system which can be moved between farms.
Small scale AD is valuable for manure management (reducing methane emissions) and recovery of energy, but is often not economically viable due to high capital costs and reduced efficiency, being more prone to up upsets in the AD process. The system is designed to allow high throughput of manures with greater resilience. Defra is sponsoring the project because it provides a potential tool for increasing the proportion of manures and slurries treated through AD.
