NVZ Soft to Hard boundary interpretation, related Statutory Mapping and Website update - WT0735NVZ

Description
The overall objective is to produce a definitive set of maps identifying the location and extent of the nitrate vulnerable zones (NVZs) within England. Water quality data provided by the Environment Agency (EA) will be available which shows the "soft" boundary of the NVZs, which currently bears little relationship to mapped features on the ground. Using a series of decision rules, a "hard" boundary will be produced in this project, which identifies the boundary of the NVZ by linking the "soft" boundary, produced by the EA, to mapped features such as roads, field boundaries etc.. In this way it will therefore be possible to see at a glance whether a particular land parcel lies inside or outside of the NVZ. The mapping will be displayed graphically on a website and will also be produced in digital form on CD.
Objective
The overall objective is to produce a definitive set of maps identifying the location and extent of the nitrate vulnerable zones (NVZs) within England.
Using a series of decision rules the “hard” boundary will be produced, which fixes the NVZ perimeter to boundary features such as field boundaries, roads etc, which represent permanent features which are marked on Ordnance Survey maps.
