A PROPOSAL FOR SUPPORT FOR A COLLABORATIVE NETWORK BETWEEN
INDUSTRY AND THE RESEARCH BASE,TO TRANSFER KNOWLEDGE, IDENTIFY APPLICATIONS
AND RESEARCH PROJECTS, AND INFORM RESEARCH FUNDERS AND INDUSTRY ON POTENTIAL IMPACTS

Objective

* Identify applications of nanotechnology in the food sector (either by transfer from other sectors, or through new developments)

* Define research projects that meet specific industry needs

* Identify and inform public funders and industry of potential impacts of the technology and the possible effects on food quality, safety, and sustainability. Further, to identify barriers to development and uptake.

* Transfer knowledge from the academic research base (including physical sciences, engineering and biological sciences) to the food industry.
