reservoir safety - long return period rainfall - WT01010
|
Description
The aim of the research is to assemble a database of major historical rainfall events, to use this database to extend the study by Collier et al. (2002) to consider spatial rainfall patterns and storm type, and to investigate alternative methods for the estimation of long return period rainfalls. The outcome of the project will be an improved method for estimating the magnitude of rainfall for return periods ranging from 100 to 10,000 years, relevant to reservoir safety and applicable to the whole of the UK. |
