Sustainable Models of Rural Community Retailing - RE04019

Description
This project will identify the factors which contribute to the long-term sustainability of community-owned village shops and assess the impact of each factor. The extent to which the multiplicity of service provision contributes to long-term sustainability, and the role played by the Post Office in the business model will also be assessed.
This will be used to provide a forecast for the long-term potential for this model in England’s rural communities, the benefits which this would have for public policy, and possible public sector interventions which could make this happen.
