Economic Evaluation of Free Advice Programme on Conservation, Pollution Abatement and Organic Conversion - ER02049
|
Description
Through ADAS and the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG), MAFF provides free initial conversation advice to farmers to stimulate changes in land management practices which will benefit wildlife, the landscape and historical features, enhance the conservation value of set aside, encourage the planting of farm woodlands and promote access. Recipients of such advice are encouraged to apply for any grants which might be appropriate but advice is not directly linked with any particular grant scheme. In 1998/99 the total number of visits to farmers to provide free advice on all aspects of conservation (including woodlands and set-aside) and access was in excess of 3,900. |
