Economic Evaluation of Agri Environment Schemes - ER02008

Description
This study will build upon and update previous evaluations of DEFRA's agrienvironment schemes (Environmentally Sensitive Areas and Countryside Stewardship) that are aimed at conserving and improving the landscape, wildlife and historic heritage of the countryside. It will provide a comprehensive and comparative assessment of these policies, in particular in relation to their contribution to meeting the overall objectives of the England Rural Development Programme (ERDP). Recommendations will also be required on any action necessary to facilitate the final evaluation of these schemes within the ERDP context. The study will be largely desk based and will be expected to draw on evidence from a number of sources, including administrative data, previous research findings and the views of a range of stakeholders.
