Description
Summary Objective:

To evaluate and test a fish counting system fit for a range of fish passes and operational over a range of environmental conditions.

Key Customer Purpose:

To develop a cost effective method, that is un-obstructive to fish, to assess the status of salmon stocks in England and Wales thus ensuring that salmon stocks are well managed according to scientific principles and to provide to the International Council for the Exploration of the Seas (ICES) and the North Atlantic Conservation Organisation (NASCO) information to set conservation limits that can be obtained by quantitative methods.
