Technology Developments for EU Funded COBO Lander Project - ME1409
|
Description
Summary Objective:
Contribution to the development of an autonomous benthic lander (COBO) through the development of two specific
instrument packages. These will facilitate controlled in situ observations whilst regulating additional data collation instrumentation, both physical and chemical, in order to assess the impacts of natural and human events.
Key Customer Purpose:
The autonomous benthic lander will allow integrated in situ observations of physical and chemical conditions at and near the sediment surface in high-energy coastal environments. Policy contributions include enhancing our understanding of marine biodiversity and ecosystems, aiding the understanding, assessment and prediction of changes in ecosystem components and the provision of risk assessment, management, conservation and rehabilitation options.
