Genetic Identification of Eggs from 2004 North Sea Survey - MF0156

Description
Summary Objective:
Conduct genetic analysis of cod-like eggs collected during the 2004 ichthyoplankton using the Taqman process in order to map the spawning grounds of cod, haddock and whiting. Evaluate new technology for genotyping, larger numbers of species within a single PCR reaction, and continue to evaluate newly developed reagents to amplify formaldehyde fixed DNA samples.

Key Customer Purpose:
Develop comprehensive maps of spawning locations of cod, haddock and whiting in the North Sea in order to inform North Sea cod recovery plans.
