Thematic Programme on Hazardous Substances Research - ME2103

Description
Summary Objectives:
The project helps the development of a standardised 'toolbox' of toxicity identification and evaluation techniques that can be used on a case-by-case basis and will increase our knowledge of the environmentally significant persistent, bio-accumulative and toxic chemicals

Key Customer Purpose:
This thematic programme of research responds to the need for increased contaminant awareness by environmental managers through the provision of an integrated approach for obtaining information relating to contaminants of the marine environment. It will help the UK National Marine Monitoring Programme (NMMP), as well as contributing to the Food and Environment Protection Act (FEPA), Oslo and Paris Commission (OSPAR) and the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD).
