Survey of integrated crop and pest management techniques - CB01028
|
Description
This contract is to update our knowledge of awareness, use and promotion of intergrated crop and pest managemnt amongst farmers and make conmparisons where possible with an earlier survey. These techniques are supported by environmental bodies and the Pesticides Forum but, apart from the earlier DoE survey, there is little further information about the levels of awareness and use of the principles of the integrated approach. This project fills this gap and determine progress made.
Objectives
- survey UK farmers and growers to determine the level of awareness and extent of use of integrated pest and crop management techniques
- identify barriers to wider adoption of these approaches
- identify sources of information and determine most cost-effective means of promoting the principles
- identify benefits perceived, progress made and scope for further dissemination |
