Further assessment of Objective 5b projects: good approaches to stimulate similar projects & inform implementation under the ERDP (CTE0212) - RE0112

Description

The research will identify good practice amongst 5b projects in terms of both process
(application, scheme management and monitoring) and products (outputs) arising. Lessons learnt can be used to inform better and more sustainable applications under the ERDP, attuned to emerging Government policy. Specifically, the results will be of direct relevance to (a) applicants under the ERDP schemes (b) the RDS in the identification of ‘winning’ projects and (c) potentially DEFRA in any subsequent adjustments or revisions to the schemes under the ERDP, in terms of content, application process and scheme targets.

Objective

1. To review current knowledge of the performance of Objective 5b projects
2. To identify a cross section of 5b projects which in combination allow the identification of good practice lessons
3. To identify good practice demonstrated by 5b projects in terms of (a) project development and / or (b) project outputs, capable of meeting sustainability objectives and the emerging Government agenda for the countryside
4. To find ways of disseminating good practice to potential ERDP applicants.
