Description
DEFRA contributed to a programme run by the Department of Health on health effects of chemicals in the environment. The projects for which we provided funding were
- a mathematical modelling framework for screening the relative significance of pathways of human exposure to organic pollutants
- standardised sampling protocols for human exposures monitoring following chemical contamination incidents - a feasibility study
- the development of assays for the determination of aluminium body burden in man
- variations in sensitivity to chemicals among population sub-groups (lifestyle factors)
- the contribution of age and genotype to sensitivity to environmental genotoxins |
