The UK NAIE - AQ01501

.The National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory is the official estimate of total UK emissions of pollutants to the atmosphere from all sources. These include greenhouse gases, pollutants leading to acidification and photochemical pollution, persistent organic pollutants and other toxic pollutants such as heavy metals. Emission totals are reported annually, and, in most cases, time trends since 1970. UK emission maps of most of the pollutants are also provided, allowing spatial trends to be assessed. The inventory is an essential tool for policymakers as it is used to report and monitor progress towards emission limits and ceilings at both national and international level, in assessing the effectiveness of existing policy measures, and identifying emission sources of concern.
