Further Analysis of the Long-term Windermere Data - SF0304

Description
R&D Summary Objective:- To complete the data entry and analysis for the Windermere pike and perch populations on to the IFE database. Key customer purpose:- To provide a predator-prey database to aid the multispecies modelling systems for both freshwater and marine environments.
Objective
Initial aims would be to complete laboratory processing and data entry of pike and perch up to the 1991 seasons, and to develop the analysis of the pike data by relating changes in demographic rates to historical changes in abundance. A subsequent major goal would be the analysis of the perch data to a similar degree. This requires that the effects of environmental factors, principally light levels, on the catchability of perch are first explored. Following on from above if time permits, inter specific relationships would be investigated by relating changes in pikeand perch populations
