Vitamin E and vitamin C in the protection of cells against oxidative damage - AN0402

Description
The overall aim of this project is to characterise fully (i) the bioavailability of various forms of vitamin E in animals and man ; (ii) the turnover of vitamin E in conditions of oxidative stress and particularly with reference to problems of prematurity ; (iii) the influence of vitamin C on the turnover of vitamin E, particularly under conditions of oxidative stress. As far as is possible the studies will be carried out in man.
Objective
1. To characterise fully the bioavailability of various forms of vitamin E in man, 2. To characterise the turnover of vitamin E on conditions of oxidative stress and particularly with reference to problems of prematurity; 3. TO characterise the influence of vitamin C on vitamin E turnover, particularly under conditions of oxidative stress. As far as possible, studies will be carried out in man.
